Catavento and SustainAbility at Sustainable Brands Rio 2015

In a partnership, both consultancies did a presentation at the international conference in Rio de Janeiro, in August 2015

In the opening of the Sustainable Brands Rio 2015 event, Clarissa Lins and Leonardo Bastos joined forces with the SustainAbility team, leaded by the executive director Mark Lee with the help of the analist Margo Mosher, to present the results of the research conducted in 2014 “See Change – How Transparency drives Performance”.

The presentation explained the research approach that aimed to identify how transparency can leverage company performance. The central elements for that to effectively happen are: having a robust process to identify the most relevant themes to the company’s long term performance (materiality); being able to conduct a valuation of externalities, with initial efforts to identify them and then trying to quantify the company’s impacts;  and promoting sustainability integration to corporate strategy.

Business cases were used to highlight the implementation possibilites of the concept, both in Brazil and internationally.  The audience also had the opportunity to learn about the preliminary findings of the research conducted by SustainAbility in 2015, with a focus on a more profound sustainability integration with company strategy.
