Catavento discusses the role of technology on the ESG agenda

May 2021

In August 19th 2021, Catavento’s founding partner, Clarissa Lins, participated in Radix Talk #14: Technology and Innovation in ESG, an online event organized by Radix that focused on the role of technology, engineering, and innovation in a scenario of increasing relevance of the ESG agenda in companies. The panel was moderated by Flavio Waltz, commercial director and founder of Radix, and included the participation of Antonio Queiroz, Vice President of Braskem, Francisco Razzolini, Executive Director of Klabin, and Tassio Simioni, General Manager of Radix.

Among the points addressed by Clarissa Lins, it is worth highlighting the recognition that the ESG agenda is at the center of the discussions and priorities of the companies’ Boards of Directors. More specifically in the energy sector, the climate issue is key, as globally 2/3 of greenhouse gas emissions come from the way society produces and uses energy. In this scenario, trends in the sector point to the development of technological routes that contribute to decarbonization, such as CCUS, green hydrogen, direct air capture (DACC) and sustainable bioenergy.
