Shell launches Sky scenario - meeting the goals of the Paris Agreement

The event, held on August 22, included a debate between Wim Thomas (Chief Energy Advisor, Shell), Décio Oddone (Director General, ANP) and Suzana Kahn (Professor, COPPE). The discussion moderated by Clarissa Lins, founding partner at Catavento, focused on the role of different stakeholders and Brazilian specificities in the energy transition landscape.

Firstly, Wim Thomas presented Shell Sky scenario that aims to demonstrate a possible pathway to a net zero emission in 2070, keeping global temperature rise below 2 °C. Then, Décio Oddone explored the challenges of the regulator’s role in the Brazilian energy transition landscape and Suzana Kahn pointed out how the academic community and companies should cooperate to leverage new technologies in the energy sector. Finally, the event had a Q&A round with the audience through an online tool.
