Catavento takes part in debates with senior executives and specialists


In CEBRI’s new cycle of debates, Clarissa Lins moderated the event – “Technology and digitalization in the energy sector”. Prof. Dr. –Ing Armin Schenettler, Senior Vice President for Corporate Technology, Research in Energy and Electronics at Siemens AG – and José Formigli – CEO of Forsea Engenharia presented their views on challenges and opportunities for the energy sector.

Prof. Dr. -Ing. Armin Schenettler explored how the energy transition is reshaping the power sector, emphasizing the role of technology and digitalization. José Formigli pointed out the main challenges faced by the oil and gas industry, illustrating the role of technology in promoting efficiency gains and new opportunities. The debate was followed by a Q&A section.

The second event – “Scenarios of Energy Transition: perspectives and Brazilian challenges”, was held in August 24th.  Wim Thomas, Chief Energy Adviser of Shell, and Roberto Schaeffer, professor and researcher of COPPE-UFRJ shared their thoughts on how different energy scenarios could evolve. Wim Thomas presented the Sky Scenario, a scenario aligned with the Paris Agreement goals. Roberto Schaeffer, on the other hand, discussed the results of COPPE’s energy transition model specifically for the Brazilian reality. Later, Clarissa Lins moderated a debate with the audience, that included senior executives and energy specialists.
