Technological capturing carbon is critical for global decarbonization. All IPCC scenarios limiting global warming to 1.5°C require some amount of carbon capture . It is the first step of a range of low-carbon technologies such as Carbon Capture Usage and Storage (CCUS), Direct Air Capture (DAC), and Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS). These technologies offer opportunities to mitigate residual emissions, achieve negative emissions, and contribute to climate goals.
