B3, the Brazilian Stock Exchange, hired Catavento in April 2019 to support the company’s sustainability strategy review. The first stage of the project focused on leadership engagement, in order to map current sustainability-related initiatives, the executives’ perception on their value generation, as well as challenges and gaps for improvement.
In a second phase, Catavento mapped global trends on sustainable finance and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) investment that could be seen as challenges and opportunities for B3. Also, Catavento analysed 4 global stock exchanges according to technical criteria on how they present their business strategy and sustainability priorities.
Finally, Catavento suggested a new sustainability strategy for B3, based on ambition, guidelines and priority initiatives, taking into account value creation for the business as well as alignment with the company’s strategic priorities.
